Flashback Friday: Rapunzel

Thank you all for the lovely compliments regarding The Princess's hair. She does have beautiful hair...now. I'm going to let you in on a little secret though...The Princess has not always had such long, shiny tresses. In fact, once upon a time, The Princess was rather follicly challenged...

When she was born she had a full head of dark hair. But, unfortunately, that all fell out within the first week and she was left with...

Peach fuzz. For the longest time she was the prettiest bald baby you ever saw.

Every time we went somewhere people would come up and say, "Oh, what a cutie! How old is HE?"

Eventually, finally, her peach fuzz began to grow into something which slightly resembled hair. I wasted no time in scraping it back into little barrettes and bows so strangers would not mistake my precious baby girl for a bald little boy any longer.

I created teeny tiny little ponytails...

See? She's a GIRL!!!

When The Princess saw these photos she said, "Wow, Mom...I guess you must have REALLY wanted me to have a ponytail!"

Eventually, when she was about 4 years old, she had hair. Wispy and thin hair...but hair, nonetheless.

One day I realized there was enough hair to do a braid!
Woo Hoo!

Of course, by the time she had enough hair for a tiny little braid, all her friends had hair down to their waist.

The Princess persevered however. She ate healthy food and took her vitamins and let her hair grow. Over the years It DID get longer and thicker. And then, one day, we realized that she had hair!

Real, honest to goodness, hair.

Long and thick and healthy.

The Princess thinks God gave her nice hair to make up for making her bald as a baby.

I think she might be right!
